Of course, there are countless exhortations and advices that we hear or read about that will motivate us and lead to greater heights.

But for now, we offer two quotes - one from a former president of the United States and the other from one of the giants in Chinese political history - on their insights regarding the real art of war.

“What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight – but the size of the fight in the dog.” – Dwight Eisenhower

“The most important thing is to be strong. With strength one can conquer others, and to conquer others gives one virtue.” – Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung)

The importance of inner strength cannot be overemphasized. We have to master ourselves first in order to effectively control our circumstances. Taking note of the essence of these two quotes should help us prepare to fight and, better still, win in our daily “battles” across all fronts.
